Commuted is made by one person. Write in and you will get a reply from him, not a ticketing system.

Yes, and this is expected rather than a failure. Open History, tap the plus button, and enter the route, the day, the start time and roughly how long it took. Duration is asked for instead of an end time because nobody remembers when they arrived, only how long it felt.
Legs you added by hand are marked as added in History, so you can always tell which ones the app timed and which ones you reconstructed.
Commuted notices. If a trip has been running for more than six hours, the next time you open the app it asks what actually happened and offers three ways out: stop it now, set the end time yourself, or discard it entirely. It will not guess on your behalf.
Because it does not need to. A commute is the same distance every day, so asking once is more accurate than measuring badly in the background, and it costs you no battery and no permission. Commuted has no location entitlement at all, which is why there is no prompt to accept.
The trade is that you have to tap. That is the whole bargain, and it is stated plainly rather than buried.
Two parts. The car is priced at the IRS standard mileage rate for the day the trip started, which covers fuel, depreciation, insurance, maintenance and tires. Your time is priced from the salary you entered, divided by 2,080 working hours, times a ratio you can adjust.
Fuel is shown separately in the line under the headline. It is a component of the mileage rate, not an addition to it, so adding the two together would count fuel twice.
Yes. Settings, Mileage rate, Use my own rate. That replaces the IRS table for every trip, which is what you want if you are outside the US, if your currency is not dollars, or if you have worked out your own number.
Set the vehicle to Electric in Settings and enter efficiency as either miles per kWh or kWh per 100 miles, whichever your car reports. Log your charging cost per kWh the same way a petrol driver logs a fill.
If you charge for free at work, enter zero. Commuted treats that as a real price rather than an error, and the energy line will say so.
Because fuel is already inside the mileage rate. Logging a fill tells Commuted how much of the total you are feeling at the pump; it does not add cost on top. If it did, your commute would look more expensive than it is.
A trip uses the most recent fill logged on or before the day it started. If every fill you have entered is dated after those trips, they have no price to use, and Commuted says so rather than showing zero. Add a fill dated earlier, or accept that the older trips predate your records.
Settings, Data, Export as JSON. That is everything the app holds, in a plain text file, handed to the share sheet. Since Commuted does not sync anywhere, an export is the only backup there is, and it is worth taking one before you change phones.
Not yet. Commuted runs on iPhone for now. A Watch app is the obvious next step, since you are already holding the phone when you get in the car. If that would change how you use it, say so in an email; that is genuinely how the next version gets decided.
